INCREASE STUDENT UNDERSTANDING THROUGH THE OUTLINE METHOD IN SOCIAL STUDIES LEARNING AT SMPN 1 MLARAK

The main problem in this study is the need for more effectiveness of conventional teaching strategies in social studies learning, which tends to be theoretical and full of reading. This study aims to reveal that the Outline Method is a practical choice of method in learning. Therefore, the study used a descriptive qualitative approach with observation and interviews to explore the effectiveness of the Outline Method as an alternative that can increase students' understanding of social studies learning material. This research uses descriptive qualitative research by making observations and interviews as an approach to collecting data. The results show that the learning is booming, and by the predetermined indicators, namely KKM 70, as much as 85% have been fulfilled

DEVELOPMENT OF AUDIO-VISUAL BASED MEDIA THROUGH VIDEO

This study discusses the application of audio-visual learning media through YouTube videos, which were carried out in class VII B SMPN 1 Lenteng Timur, using a qualitative descriptive type of approach, data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation techniques, while the validity of the data used through techniques source triangulation and technique triangulation. The objectives to be obtained in this study are to find out how the application of learning through audio-visual-based media uses video, and to increase student activity in learning through audio-visual-based media. The results obtained show that the application of learning using video media has two stages, namely the planning stage and the implementation stage. or those that have been planned at the planning stage. Then the second result was obtained that applying video-based media could increase the learning activity of class VII B SMPN Lenteng with an overall percentage of activity of 71.8%, which means that almost all activities are said to be fulfilled properly.

Students learning success can be seen in concrete terms from their learning outcomes. Student learning outcomes are a benchmark for the extent to which understanding of learning. Learning outcomes are the abilities students get and have after getting their learning experiences. Learning outcomes are influenced by several factors that come from within students in the form of physiological and psychological aspects such as interests, motivation, talents, intelligence. Then influenced by external factors, namely factors that come from outside the students. The purpose of this study was to determine the significance of the effect of interest in learning on learning outcomes, to determine the significant effect of learning motivation on learning outcomes, and to determine the significant effect of learning interest and motivation on learning outcomes.

THE EFFECT OF USING THE SIMULATION METHOD ON STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN SOCIAL STUDIES CLASS VIII AT SMP NEGERI 1 JENGGAWAH FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023

In applying the simulation method it is hoped that students will be more active and participatory in the teaching and learning process so that students are even more motivated to achieve more in learning. In applying this simulation method in the form of practice using aids in the form of pictures so that students learn more fun and more active. The simulation method for student learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 1 Jenggawah is that the teacher teaches using the simulation method to students so that they are more active so that they can improve learning outcomes. The form of teaching this simulation method in social science given to students is that prior to face-to-face learning they are asked to study on their own at home regarding the material for the next meeting. The research used by researchers used a quantitative approach, the method used was Quasi Experimental Design with the type of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The data analysis used was the Independent Sample t-Test using the prerequisite test, namely the normality test, linearity test, and homogeneity test. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there was an effect of using the simulation method on student learning outcomes in social studies learning at SMP Negeri 1 Jenggawah. This study came to the conclusion that the result of data analysis and hypothesis testing was 0.0001 which means that the result is less than 0.05. It can be interpreted that the independent variable of the simulation model has an effect on the dependent variable, namely student learning outcomes in social studies class VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Jenggawah Academic Year 2022/2023.

CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN ENDHOG-ENDHOGAN TRADITION IN TAMANSARI VILLAGE, TEGALSARI DISTRICT, BANYUWANGI REGENCY

Banyuwangi is the birthday of the Great Prophet Muhammad S.A.W, the second celebration after Eid al-Fitr.In the celebration chanted the story of the Prophet, commonly called Barzantsi; there is a special event in banyuwangi to celebrate the Prophet's Mawlid accompanied by Endhog flowers or Endhog Endhogan. Endhog flowers are decorations in the form of eggs placed in baskets made of bamboo, decorated with various decorations, and topped with roses. One of the most lively areas is Tamansari Village in Tegalsari District, Banyuwangi Regency. This study aims to determine the meaning and philosophical value of the endhog-endhogan tradition in social and religious life and the development of the Tamansari Village, Tegalsari District, Banyuwangi Regency community. This research uses qualitative methods with phenomenological research types. The theory used is the theory of sociologist Emile Durkheim, namely functionalism, which states that tradition is a belief system related to sacred objects and has a social function. The data sources in this study are the Head of Tamansari Village, Community Leaders (Kyai/Ustadz), and community members of Tamansari Village who carry out endhog-endhogan traditions. Observation, interviews, and documentation are used to carry out data collection techniques. The data obtained in the field is analyzed using descriptive analysis, describing the data through words and drawing conclusions. The results revealed that the sandhog and hogan tradition had been carried out in Tamansari Village, Tegalsari District, Banyuwangi Regency, since 1981. Holding the Endhog-Endhogan tradition preserves local culture and increases people's love for the Prophet SAW. In the Endhog tradition, many philosophical meanings are embodied as symbols. The symbol comprises bamboo stems, flowers, soul mates, and eggs. The values contained in this tradition are moral and educational, religious or spiritual values, educational values, and social values. The implementation of the Endhog tradition in Banyuwangi is included in PHBI's agenda.
